This month’s DSF field trip had us bundled up in our warmest layers and dropped into Northern Lights, a winter resort region where the sky was alive with shimmering curtains of aurora over endless snow.
We took the ski lift up the mountain to soak in the views, then hit the trails: some of us on skis, others swapping to sledges, snowboards, or even a giant donut. Highlights included dodging the occasional region restart (promptly taking refuge at the DSF ice rink gazebo) and the unforgettable sight of Talis-the-wolf launching off a ski ramp fully strapped into skis.
From there we hopped over to the next area and caused a little chaos on snowmobiles, before ending the trip the best way possible: skating together on a frozen lake under the northern lights.
